Phyllis Ritchie, MD

CEO and Founder

Dr. Phyllis Ritchie is a board-certified Infectious Disease Physician. She has been practicing medicine for close to thirty years. Phyllis (as she’s known to her patients) attended the Chicago Medical School. She did her residency at Loyola University Medical Center and did her fellowship specialty training at a joint program in Chicago at Rush Medical College and Cook County Hospital.

Phyllis began her Infectious Disease career in private practice in Chicago. She stayed there a couple of years before deciding to move closer to her family in California, and opened a private practice in Santa Cruz, California (she is originally from San Francisco).

She met her future husband in Santa Cruz and moved to Portland, Oregon.

About seven years ago Phyllis joined the Desert AIDS Project in Palm Springs, California. She became the Associate Medical Director. She really enjoyed working with HIV-positive patients.

While practicing in Palm Springs Phyllis recognized a need for providing testing and treating for sexually transmitted infections to a much wider population: people who don’t have access to medical clinics for various reasons including transportation.
